Gallery Mountaintop Removal

These photographs are unlike any other in my image catalog. They are aerial images of Mountaintop Removal coal mining operations in eastern Kentucky. The saying goes that everybody likes sausage, but nobody wants to know how it is made. In Kentucky, electricity is sort of like that. All proceeds from sales of these images will be donated to organizations working to educate the public on the short and long-term effects of these mining operations.
